USA TODAY NETWORK– Wisconsin launched the Wisconsin High School Sports Awards to recognize outstanding high school athletes, coaches, parents and fans.
1,000 people attended the event in the atrium at Lambeau Field. Awards were given to the 29 categories, which included 145 nominees. Premier awards were presented for special categories such as Coach of the Year, Sports Courage Award, Girls Athletic Team of the Year, Boys Athletic Team of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year. Guest speakers have included Green Bay Packer Superbowl Champions Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews as well as MLB Hall of Fame inductee Cal Ripken Jr.
